Fatal Spider Bites Can Cause Other Strange Symptoms
Despite the huge number of spiders that outnumber humans, we are still relatively safe from spiders. Even most venomous spiders, like the Black Widow, prefer to evade humans rather than confront them. Then again, if you happen to live in the less populated areas near the Brazilian rainforest, you definitely have to watch your back since some of the most brutal spiders in the world can be found in this region.

One such dangerous spider would be the Brazilian Wandering Spider. These spiders are so venomous that they are a public health concern in parts of South America. During the first couple of hours after being bit by one of these spiders, victims will complain of abdominal cramps, blurred vision, hypothermia, and men will complain of erections that will not go away for some reason–a point of interest for pharmaceutical companies, probably.
After a nest belonging to one of these spiders was found on a banana in a grocery store, a spokesman for the grocery store apologized to the public for the oversight.
Has spider venom ever been studies for the possibility of having medicinal value?
