A Healthcare Company Has Just Unveiled A New Test Service For Zika
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has developed a new antibody test kit that helps doctors diagnose Zika with greater speed and efficiency. The company that introduced the Zika testing service is Quest Diagnostics, which is among the largest of all medical supply companies in the United States, as half of the physicians employed in the USA use their products and half of all hospitals in the USA deal exclusively with Quest.
The Center for Disease Control called upon the nation’s largest and most profitable medical supply companies to put forth some goodwill in an effort to contain the Zika virus. The test is authorized only for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration.
In addition to the charitable efforts on the part of Quest Diagnostics, the new technology makes a physician’s job much easier. For example, physicians can now collect as much blood from as many patients that will give them permission because Quest has agreed to test all of the blood samples no matter how numerous they may be. It is a relief to see the corporate world joining in on the fight against Zika.
How big of an impact do you think this new test will have on our fight against the spread of the Zika virus in the US?
