Ants Are Leader In Technological Innovation
Ants are amazing creatures. For fifty million years they have been able to thrive on this planet with no problem due to how well adapted ants are to the natural environment. Animals that are socially sophisticated such as ants, bees, termites and humans, are also the most technologically sophisticated.
The term “eusocial” is used to describe animals that demonstrate social behavior that is considered the most sophisticated. Ants and humans are both eusocial animals, and both are technologically advanced relative to other animals. For example, agriculture was first discovered and put into use by humans ten thousand years ago. However, both ants and termites have been agriculturally active for fifty million years, much longer than humans.
Also, man made technology typically results in pollution and other environmental problems while ant technology is more green and earth friendly. Researchers believe this is because ants are more closely related to their environments and suffer more from pollution. Human researches are looking to eusocial insects more and more in order to start developing technologies that are more earth friendly.
