Cutting Edge Technology Will Help Target Destructive Snails And Slugs For Extermination
There is no shortage of slugs munching away at your well-cultivated plants this fall. These things are awful looking, but at least they are very slow. The government of Australia currently has vowed to prevent insect induced crop damage by recently introducing a new high tech research team that plans to think collectively in order to solve the problem of insect-related crop damage.
In Australia, there exists two different species of creature that cause much damage to both private and public property. The universally unlikable creatures being discussed happen to be the slug as well as the snail. These two menaces of the insect world are known to achieve the amazing feat of destroying three million dollars worth of property. Researchers working for the government are working to develop a digital map that will pinpoint the location of the two slimy, and damaging pests within seconds.
The point of the research is to provide grain farmers with the technology to locate areas of his/her crop that are in danger of being consumed, or even infected, by plant-devouring pests. Government officials in charge of heading up this government funded research program believe that they must act immediately, and choose one single solution quickly before catastrophe becomes inevitable.
Is there technology that exists today that allows humans to pinpoint tiny organisms several yards away by means of computer mapping?
