Avoid Bedbugs Over The Holidays
The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) has noted the increased risk of acquiring bedbugs this year, and all travelers this holiday season are advised to be mindful of bedbugs. This year will see the most Americans traveling for the thanksgiving holiday since 2007. Due to this increase in travelers this year experts are predicting a spike in bedbug issues as well.
A spokesperson for the NPMA has stressed how important it is for all travelers this holiday season to be on the lookout for all signs of bedbug activity. For example, pepper-like stains on fabric are a surefire sign of a bedbug presence. It is even possible to spot old bedbug moltings that have been shed. All travelers should inspect their hotel rooms thoroughly for these signs. Sheets should be removed in order to ensure that the mattress does not show any signs of bedbug activity. And be sure to wash all clothes on high heat as an extra precaution this thanksgiving.
