Which Type Of Spider Bites The Most People Indoors?
There is a lot of talk about dangerous spiders and insects these days, and thankfully people seem more aware of the dangers that go along with handling some of the worlds most aggressive spiders. We all know that the black widow and brown recluse are two spiders that can cause some serious damage, especially if you have an allergy to their venom. And while these spiders have been known to bite people while in their homes, there is another spider that has the black widow and brown recluse beat for the number of times it has victimized people relaxing indoors. That spider is known as the sac spider.
People sometimes confuse the sac spider with the brown recluse, mostly because their bites look similar, and they use the same type of cytotoxic venom. These spiders often build a web-like funnel that they keep underneath large objects, such as furniture or appliances. The sac spider calls this web-funnel home, and they are commonly found in people’s homes. So the next time you peek under your couch, have a can of bug-spray handy.
