Man Discovers Unpleasant Insects Underneath The Hood Of His Car
You may have read the recent news stories telling about video game consoles that were packed with cockroaches, and not just a few, but a whole family of cockroaches. It seems like these tough and resilient creatures can make it into any type of environment no matter how seemingly impractical. Well, cockroaches are back in the news again, and for similar reasons. They have been found infesting the engines of luxury sports cars.
Imagine if you had just acquired a significant amount of money for the first time in your life. You would probably want to treat yourself to a few luxuries, right? Well that is exactly what one American man did when he walked into a BMW dealership, and purchased the nicest looking beamer he could find. Sadly, this particular high-performance vehicle came with an extra feature–cockroaches!
It is not uncommon for car salesman and mechanics to find roaches climbing between the small crevice between the sides of the hood and the body of a vehicle, but this situation was unique. The BMW owner, Blake Howell, noticed a few cockroaches emerging through his car hood where the engine was located, and this was immediately after he purchased the expensive vehicle. Howell quickly tracked down some bug spray when he arrived home, but was not prepared for the number of cockroaches that he would soon encounter. According to Howell, the roaches simply kept emerging from the engine as if half the world’s roach population was living in his car engine. After several minutes of furiously spraying anti-roach spray under his hood, Howell noticed a pile of roach corpses collecting around his driveway. Howell, of course, washed the roaches away with a hose, which took much longer than it should have.
Howell believes that the roaches collected in his recently purchased car engine while he had it parked under a tree for several days while on vacation. Apparently, the exterminators that were called to the scene of the horrific sight claimed that they had never seen a roach infestation that was so pronounced. Even after a few weeks, Howell is still encountering roaches within and around his beamer. Now Howell is paranoid about stepping into his new car every time he has to drive to work in the morning. Perhaps he should have checked the warranty to see if it covered roach infestations.
Have you ever encountered roaches in a strange and unlikely place? If so, where?
