Spiders You Could Stumble Upon in All 50 States
One thing that can be a relief depending on where you live is that at least there are nasty insect and spiders you know you won’t find there. For the most part, you can trust that to be true about spiders. If you really hate a specific one, you can just up and move to a state it doesn’t inhabit. Heck, you can even move to certain places where you are very likely to never see a mosquito. Now that one sounds impossible, but true. However, there are certain creepy crawly spiders you just can’t escape no matter where you move. These spiders are everywhere (even in the far North of Alaska)!! Escape is impossible, so you might as well know which ones you need to always watch out for. Here are spiders that live in every single state in the United States of America.
Unfortunately, a number of the spiders you just can’t escape are some of the worst to come across. The black widow spider is everywhere, and it’s one of the most dangerous spiders you can find. Thankfully, they are pretty easy to recognize with their black body and the well-known red hourglass-shaped mark on their abdomen. These venomous arachnids like to hang out in dark, dimly lit place such as basements, garages, and dark hole they can find. Just carry a flashlight with you everywhere.
This next one isn’t so much dangerous as terrifying. The wolf spider is somewhat large, kind of like a tarantula without the hair. They can also jump pretty high and far, so you might find one of these guys flying at you as they try to make their way to shelter. The good news is that they tend to live in underground burrows and usually only come out at night. If you ever cross paths with one of these spiders, don’t panic. They’re harmless to humans and nothing to worry about. Whenever I come across one, I just sleep in my living room for the night, and by morning my cat has taken care of it.
Jumping spiders are found in every state, and are the ones you are most likely to come across during the day. They are usually found on ceilings, walls, windows, and other areas with plenty of sunlight. Now, as their name suggests, these guys can jump, much like the wolf spider. So, they might scare the pants off of you, but otherwise, their harmless.
