Homeowners Are Horrified To Find Rats Invading Their Neighborhood

Rats are not the most endearing of creatures, and they are never welcome guests within people’s homes. A recently constructed subdivision in the small town of Celina, Texas is being invaded by massive amounts of rats, and some reports say that the rats are clearly multiplying. Buying a new home is an expensive decision that takes a big commitment. However, the residents of Celina were pleased to be living within a recently constructed set of homes that had never been inhabited by anyone before. The new subdivision was built on an area of old farmland, giving the new residents a picturesque view of the tall and majestic green grasslands located nearby. Unfortunately, this region of tall grass is home to a staggering amount of rats that are traveling uncomfortably close to the new homes.

Lately, northern Texas has seen a population boom, which has resulted in many homes being sold in small towns like Celina. The last thing the new homeowners in Celina expected to find in their neighborhood were packs of traveling rats. Homeowners have reported seeing numerous rats invading certain areas of their property, such as garages and backyards. According to a local pest control professional, Kent Hooper, Celina’s heavy rat population is nothing new. The rats were dwelling within Celina’s farmland long before the construction of the new subdivision began. The rats began to disperse once the area became a hotspot for home construction.

The new subdivision, named Light Farms, was built on old farmland where rats had been dwelling for a long while. The subdivision displaced the rat population, which has caused the rats to scurry about the neighborhood while frightening the residents. The enormous native rat population has been holding up within the grasslands where they can hide. However, the progressively colder temperatures are causing the rats to seek out warm shelters, such as people’s houses. The developers of the new subdivision have issued a statement to the residents of the Light Farms neighborhood saying that the tall grass will be trimmed to prevent rats from dwelling and breeding within the grassland. In addition to that, several traps have also been set in various locations around the region. Hopefully these traps will reduce the rat infestation in this small neighborhood, but only time can tell.
