Man Killed By 40,000 Killer Bees | Texas Bee Removal
It is hard to believe that killer bees fly around within the United States. These extremely dangerous bees, which are known as Africanized honey bees, increase their population numbers within the Unite

States by mating with native honey bees. Not surprisingly, these bees have been known to claim American lives, and this is not necessarily a rare occurrence. It seems like every summer season sees at least one fatality resulting from an Africanized bee attack in America. You do not have to be allergic to bee stings to die from these bee attacks. In most fatal cases, the bees swarm onto a victim in large numbers, leaving numerous sting-wounds. One of the most grisly cases of a fatal killer bee attack occured in Texas back in 2013.
In 2013, a man named Larry Goodwin passed away from a killer bee attack while he was mowing his neighbors lawn in a tractor in Moody, Texas. The attack, and consequent death of the victim tragically occured in front of his own family. Goodwin’s neighbor had assured him that the many beehives within his yard were nothing to worry about. The neighbor claimed that the hives were abandoned and buried beneath brush piles in the corner of his yard. Once Goodwin started mowing the yard, bees began to appear from the brush pile. It looked as though there were thousands upon thousands of individual bees. Goodwin’s daughter believes that the tractor-mower’s vibrations disturbed the killer bees.
The subsequent bee swarm quickly surrounded Goodwin as several neighbors and family members looked on, helpless to do anything to save Goodwin. Even the paramedics were unable to help Goodwin during the attack, as the bees would have attacked the paramedics as well. Despite this, two first responders, three neighbors, and three of Goodwin’s relatives sustained bee stings themselves while attempting to help Goodwin. A few days after the attack, a local professional stopped by to remove the various hives from Goodwin’s neighbor’s yard. The pest control professional reportedly found twenty two hives that contained forty thousand bees. By the time Goodwin was pronounced dead, doctors found that he had sustained three thousand bee stings.
