A Zoo Is Allowing Vengeful People To Name A Cockroach After Their Exes Before The Insect Is Publically Fed To A Mongoose

Valentine’s Day quickly approached, which means that many people spent  the last few days frantically searching for their significant other’s annual gifts. Of course, those who do not have a significant other do not need to worry about finding a Valentine’s Day gift. Normally, this would be the case for anyone who has recently found themselves single after a break-up, but this year, the El Paso Zoo is allowing vengeful former lovers a chance to name a cockroach after their exes as a morbid Valentine’s Day gift. This gesture is great for any jilted former boyfriend, girlfriend, wife or husband who wants to express the unresolved resentment they may still be feeling toward their ex. As an added bonus, the particular cockroach that a person names after their ex will be publically fed to a mongoose at 2:00 PM on Valentine’s Day within the Zoo.

About a week ago, the El Paso Zoo posted this particular offer on their website, and since then, many people have taken Zoo officials up on the offer. Many people have submitted their exes’ names as names to be given to particular cockroach specimens being held captive at the Zoo. In fact, these names have already been posted to the Zoo’s Facebook page as an extra service to angry ex lovers hoping to publicly condemn their exes.

There must be a lot of people in America who are holding grudges against their exes, as the Zoo’s cockroach-naming program had to stop early due to an overabundance of submissions. Despite this premature ending, zoo employees will still be decorating a mongoose exhibit with the names that have been submitted. Once the 14th arrives, all of the roaches named after ex lovers will be fed one at a time to a live meerkat, which is a type of mongoose. Apparently, the roaches are being kept as feed for the captive animal.
